Capacity up again, quality up again: an 8,000-tonne-per-year water-dispersible granule (WDG) digitalized standalone workshop has landed at BNSD in Qingzhou, Shandong.

Introduction: in today's increasingly involuted agri-input industry, "price cutting" has become the main marketing tool for most manufacturers. Yet one pesticide manufacturer in Qingzhou, Shandong — BNSD — has chosen to go the other way.

In July, the "WDG digitalized standalone workshop" at the BNSD super plant in the Development Zone officially came on stream, with twin parallel lines producing 8,000 tonnes of high-quality water-dispersible granules per year. At the same time, the surroundings of the BNSD Development Zone super plant have taken on a completely new look, with 5S visual management fully implemented — marking the arrival of the BNSD brand and products at the leading position of the agri-input industry.

1. Standardized management; lower costs, higher efficiency. Inside the super plant, orderly workshops, crisp black-and-white asphalt roads and separate lanes for people and trucks all reflect BNSD's strict requirements and constant refinement of manufacturing. Together with the company's online CRM management system, digital management now covers the entire flow from R&D through production, warehousing and logistics to marketing.

From raw material production to logistics dispatch, the fastest lead time has been cut to 60 minutes. 5S management is not merely a facelift for the site — it is an important means of cutting costs, raising efficiency and strengthening competitiveness.

2. Intelligent control, green development. In the solid pesticide manufacturing industry, dust and odor have always been the pain points of the traditional production model, and many smaller firms lack controls in this area. From the outset, the BNSD WDG digitalized standalone workshop was equipped by first-class suppliers at home and abroad, with dust-free enclosed technology plus negative-pressure technology, plus an air purification system and an environmental monitoring and alarm system — "two technologies plus two systems" layering prevention and control from the raw material through the process to discharge, keeping volatile substances from escaping, blocking secondary pollution from dust and odor, and safeguarding a safe working environment across the plant.

Green production has long been treated by BNSD as a core responsibility, and the company has been named a "Green Factory" by the municipal bureau of industry and information technology.

3. Automated production, climbing output. The workshop runs an integrated, fully automated production line. Compared with traditional batch production, the new line upgrades five stages — precision dosing, air milling, additive kneading, granulation and drying/discharge — with seamlessly connected flow and remote digital monitoring that feeds every data point into a PLC smart control screen, enabling real-time control of the production process.

The workshop also reserves expansion modules, so capacity and equipment can be extended flexibly as the market changes. The BNSD WDG digitalized standalone workshop has now reached an annual capacity of 8,000 tonnes of water-dispersible granules of first-class quality at home and abroad, and for years running the company has been rated by the China Crop Protection Industry Association as a "National Top 100 Formulation Enterprise" with "Green Development High-Quality Products".
